8 artists selected to create a public work for Vallastaden in Linköping.
Vallastaden is set to become a vibrant place full of life and activity. The entire district is based on the concepts of variety, diversity and social sustainability. These concepts will characterise every aspect of Vallastaden, from how the area is planned to how the plots are sold and what types of buildings are built here.

”We received around 250 applications so the jury had a real nut to bite. It is fantastic that the interest has been so great,” says Åsa-Viktoria Wihlborg, project manager for the arts in Vallastaden. ”A challenge has been to find artists who can take on the site and stand out in the crowd, while we wish to achieve a dynamics of different artistic techniques.”

SOME RUSES ARE SO SUBTLE THAT THEY DEFEAT THEMSELVES
Eva Beierheimer och Kristina Stark har under de senaste åren arbetat med projektet Der Bau, där de försöker att föra samman sina två konstnärsskap. Mötet dem emellan skapar konstraster som både är subtila och mycket tydliga. Titeln är lånad från Franz Kafkas berättelse ”Der Bau” (svenska Boet, men titeln på tyska betyder även Byggnad). Der Bau byggs på ett nytt sätt inför varje utställningstillfälle och utgår från platsens egenheter. Konstnärerna arbetar med installation, teckning, skulptur och grafik.

Exactly 10 years ago on the 19th of May 2006 we had our first exhibtion opening at the Kro Art Gallery, and on the next 19th May we will celebrate it!
An anniversary exhibition, a special wine anniversary edition, a buffet prepared by our artists, the „most delicious“ cakes since 10 years and a lot of good vibes!
